WiscWeb - Image sizing recommendations in the UW Theme
This document details the recommended image sizing (in pixels) for various in-page elements that are available in the UW Theme.
Alternating content boxes
900x600 pixels
Faculty/staff listing
This is a bit based on preferences, but we recommend either 400x400 or 350x250 at 72ppi
**Images will resize based on number of columns chosen and aspect ratio chosen for display
Featured content block
- One Column Layout: Can change based on your design preferences
- Two Column Layout: 900x600 pixels
- Three Column Layout: 900x600 pixels
Featured image for posts
Default thumbnail size
Hero image/carousel
1600x500 pixels
Image carousel
900x600 pixels
Image gallery
The image gallery can change based on your design preferences.
Images will resize based on the number of columns chosen. Images will appear full sized when clicked.
Post listing
Default thumbnail size
Background images for content layouts
- If using the Campus Photo Library, download the 2400px version of the image
- Do not crop the image, if possible
- Note that the display will depend on amount of content. It is recommended that you limit content if using a background image option.
