LastPass - Does LastPass Keep a Record of My Master Password?

1Password is replacing LastPass as UW-Madison's supported Password Manager. 1Password was selected for its intuitive user-friendly interface, robust set of features, and excellent track record in safeguarding sensitive data.

LastPass (LogMeIn) has no knowledge of your Master Password

No, LastPass has a zero-knowledge security model and does not store its users’ Master Passwords. Therefore, it is important that you set up any/all Master Password recovery options for all of your LastPass accounts. For LastPass Enterprise specifically, make sure you also log into the browser extension regularly so that your Master Password can be completely reset if necessary.
