Zoom test room

The Zoom test room was created to help individuals prepare to attend a meeting hosted by a UW-Madison Zoom account. Meetings hosted by a UW-Madison Zoom account will require attendees to use the Zoom computer and mobile application version 6.2.0 or later. Learn more.

Individuals who attend UW-Madison Zoom meetings using a web browser only will not be impacted.

Attendees who use a Zoom computer or mobile application that does not meet the technical requirements can expect the following:

  • Unable to join the meeting from the Zoom computer or mobile application.
  • Prompted to update the Zoom computer or mobile application.
  • Presented the option to join the meeting from a browser.

To avoid seeing an unexpected prompt from the Zoom computer or mobile application when joining a Zoom meeting hosted by a UW-Madison Zoom account, attendees are encouraged to test their computer or mobile application, in advance, by joining the Zoom test room to verify their computer or mobile application's compatibility.
