UW Digital ID (Personal Certificate) - Compatible Mail Clients
UW Digital IDs can be used to provide greater security when using email. However, UW Digital IDs are not compatible with all email clients. This document provides more information about mail clients which are known to work with UW Digital IDs.

Additional Notes
At present, Outlook on the web supports the reading of digitally signed messages. However, it does not support the encryption/decryption feature of digital certificates. If you need to digitally sign or encrypt/decrypt messages, you must use one of the stand-alone mail clients listed above.
Though digital certificates are known to work with Eudora, the DoIT Help Desk provides best effort support for Eudora only. Users of Eudora are strongly encouraged to migrate to a new email client.
