BigFix - Windows 10 to 11 Upgrade Content
The following lists the BigFix content that can be used to upgrade computers from Windows 10 to 11.
Web Reports has the Windows 11 In-place Upgrade Eligibility report. More information about the report can be found at this link [Link for document 129985 is unavailable at this time].
The following BigFix tasks are available in the DoIT Shared Applications site to assist in upgrading computers from Windows 10 to 11:
- DoIT - Update - Microsoft Windows 11 x64 - 24H2 Feature Update (Windows) for the current version of Windows 11.
- DoIT - Update - Microsoft Windows 11 x64 - 23H2 Feature Update (Windows) for the prior Windows 11 version, which is End of Life (EOL) November 10, 2026 for Enterprise and Education versions.
- DoIT - Config - Registry - Enable update to Windows 11 via Windows Update, which will allow the Windows Update process to perform the upgrade. NOTE - testing has shown this setting change takes immediate effect, a reboot may not be required.
One of the most common issues preventing an upgrade to Windows 11 is Secure Boot functionality. A task named DoIT - Config - Dell Command Configure x64 - Enable Secure Boot - 4.5 and 3.0 (Windows) should be helpful in enabling Secure Boot for Dell computers. A reboot is required to complete the configuration change.
