DesignPLUS - Known Issue - Links Opening in Same Window
DesignPLUS has a link tool that opens links in the same tab by default. When creating links in Canvas directly, the links open in a new tab.
When creating a link with the DesignPLUS Link tool, the default behavior is to have the link open in the same tab that Canvas is already open in. This can create confusion as links created using Canvas will only open in new windows. We are working with the vendor to correct this issue.
Affects
All users in all courses are affected.
Status
This issue is present as of August 11. 2026. The vendor has been notified and is working on a solution.
Workaround
There are two work arounds to this issue:
- When needing to create links, do NOT use the Link tool inside of the DesignPLUS tool bar.
- If you are using the DesignPLUS Link tool, make sure you are checking the box labeled "Open in new tab"
