Lecture Capture Service - Service Description
This document gives an overview of the Lecture Capture Service.
Background
The Lecture Capture Service was created to better enable instructors to record video of their lectures for distribution to their students online in applications such as Learn@UW, Moodle, etc. The service is intended to make it easier to capture video from cameras, computers, document cameras, and other resources used when lecturing from technology-enabled classrooms.
More information about the Lecture Capture Service, including a list of available classrooms, is available at FP&M Classroom Media Support.
Support Conditions
The DoIT Help Desk provides basic support for students attempting to view captured content presented via Learn@UW and other resources. We cannot assist with issues with the actual equipment in these classrooms, however. Support of classroom equipment is done by Classroom Media Support with Facilities Planning & Management.
Availability
The Lecture Capture Service itself should be available during normal classroom hours. Kaltura, which is where captured lectures are hosted, is available 24x7.
