GoPrint (Linux/Ubuntu) - Printing from Personal Computers
This document describes the process for printing to a GoPrint server from personal computers connected to UW-Madison's network.
|NOTE: Linux is not directly supported by the DoIT Help Desk. Unless you are using a service which explicitly supports Linux (NetID Login Service and Office 365), the Help Desk can not provide support for Linux, Unix, or any derivative of those (e.g. Ubuntu, SUSE, FreeBSD, or Solaris). Click on the at the top right corner of the screen and then click on System Settings...
Then click on Printers
Click on Add
Expand the Network Printers menu and then choose LPD/LPR Host or Printer. Add the Host Name and corresponding Queue and then click Forward.
Make sure Generic is selected and press Forward
Make sure text-only is selected and press Forward
Once finished a new printer will show up in the printer window
See Printer Queue Names and Locations to determine what server and queue you want to connect to. The example below is connecting to the Black and White Queue at the BTU InfoLab.
