WiscIT - Assign an Incident to the DoIT Help Desk
The following document outlines how to assign an incident to the DoIT Help Desk.
If you need to assign an incident to the DoIT Help Desk, following the link on the left side of the incident screen will get it to the proper team within the Help Desk. Use the following instructions to learn how to assign an incident to the DoIT Help Desk:
- Under the I Want To section of the incident window, click on the Assign to the DoIT Help Desk link.
- You will then be prompted to provide a mandatory comment on why you are sending the incident to the Help Desk as well as any instructions you would like to include. If you have already written a journal note for the incident, you can simply request for the Help Desk agent to reference the note.
- Note: An incident note is required, as this information will help the Help Desk properly handle the case. You will not be able to assign an incident to the Help Desk if you don't provide a comment; instead, you will receive a warning message that a note is required and another opportunity to add a note.
- After you have filled out the prompt, click OK.
- A pop-up box should then appear to confirm that the incident has been assigned to the Help Desk and that you have completed the appointment process. Click Close.
