Office 2013 - Disable Smart Quotes

Smart quotes (opposed to straight quotes) might cause issues/display improperly if copied from Office and pasted into another program. This document details the steps required to disable them in Word 2013.

  1. In Word 2013, click File in the upper left corner.


  2. Click Options in the lower right corner.


  3. Select proofing and click Autocorrect Options...


  4. Under the Autoformat tab uncheck "Straight quotes" with "smart quotes".


  5. Under the Autoformat As You Type tab uncheck "Straight quotes" with "smart quotes".
