Cisco VoIP - Unity Voicemail Exceed Capacity
This document discusses voice mailbox capacity and warnings.
Possible Reasons for Reaching the Voice Mailbox Capacity
-
There are messages in the deleted folder waiting to be removed. The messages are automatically removed after 90 days, however, they can be manually removed. The messages in this folder are included in the quota used calculation.
- A common misconception is that voice messages are deleted when the email notification is deleted. These are separate systems. So, deleting a voicemail notification in email does not delete it in the voice mail system.
Removing Deleted Messages
- via the web portal: Cisco VoIP - Emptying deleted items in the voicemail portal
- via the telephone: Cisco VoIP - Removing deleted messages through the telephone
Example of a Voicemail Quota Warning Message
This is an example of a warning message sent when a quota has been exceeded. The quota and threshold amounts were set low to generate the warning message.

On the top-right corner of the list, click the 'Empty Deleted Items' button.
