macOS - Finding the IP Address and MAC Address
This document describes the process of finding both the IP address and MAC address of your Mac OS computer.
IP Address
- Open the Apple Menu in the top-left corner.
- Click System Settings.
- Click Network.
- Click Wi-Fi (or Ethernet).
- Click Details.
- Find your IP address. In the image below, the IP address is 10.141.165.155.

MAC Address
- Open the Apple Menu in the top-left corner.
- Click System Settings.
- Click Network.
- Click Wi-Fi (or Ethernet).
- Click Details.
- Click the Hardware tab.
- Look for MAC address.
MAC addresses follow the form of 12 characters, separated by colons every 2 characters. For example: 00:1A:2B:3C:4D:5E
