As the Division of Information Technology (DoIT) expands wireless service on campus, it will become necessary to use building specific network names, called SSIDs. On Wednesday, August 17, all current Wireless WiscWorld sites will be moved from the NetScreen firewall (old wireless) to the Captivator firewall (new XXI wireless). At that same time, the SSID of each building will change to "UWNet-bldgname"

To authenticate, users need only to open a web browser and they will be automatically redirected to the Capivator banner for login. Users who go to https://wirelesswiscworld.doit.wisc.edu or https://wireless.wisc.edu will also get the new Captivator banner.

There will be wireless WiscWorld outages of several minutes for each building. The work will start around 7 a.m. and end several hours later.
