A script is run each night to check the disk usage for all UW-MadMail accounts, but currently a report just goes to the UW-MadMail postmaster. In the near future it will notify each user who goes over 85% of their disk allocation via an email.

A script is run each night to check the disk usage for all UW-MadMail accounts, but currently a report just goes to the UW-MadMail postmaster. In the near future it will notify each user who goes over 85% of their disk allocation via an email. The email is to remind users to delete/move email or increase their disk allotment. The script is being modified and should be ready for implementation by April 21. The email notification is important because there is not a soft limit on the UW-MadMail IMAP server. When the disk allocation is reached the user no longer receives email and the email returns to the sender with "account is full (quota exceeded)." I will post this information on the UW-MadMail website http://euc.doit.wisc.edu/uw-madmail/ .
