Internet Explorer critical patch to change ActiveX behavior

Microsoft is expected to release a cumulative update to Internet Explorer on 4/11/06 that includes a change to the way ActiveX controls work in web pages.

ActiveX provides web developers with the ability to provide interactive content in their web pages. Some common programs that may be called by ActiveX controls include: Apple Quicktime Player Microsoft Windows Media Player Macromedia Flash Sun Java Virtual Machine As part of their normal, monthly, patch cycle, Microsoft is expected to release a cumulative update to Internet Explorer 6. This update will include a non-security update, Microsoft Knowledge Base Article 912945, which will change the behavior of ActiveX controls.
