On August 6, 2022, Zoom will retire significantly older computer Zoom application versions, Zoom Rooms, Zoom Phone, Virtual Room Connector, SDK, and VDI to address a security vulnerability.

After August 6, 2022, users will not be able to log in or join meetings using a computer or mobile Zoom application version below 5.3.0 (originally released in September 2020). Affected individuals will receive targeted communication about this change. They will be encouraged to download and update to the latest version of Zoom software to take advantage of Zoom's latest security and functionality features.

Individuals who go to https://uwmadison.zoom.us to start or join a meeting using a web browser (e.g., Firefox, Chrome, Safari, Edge) will not be impacted by this change.

Note: Individuals using a computer managed by their IT department may not see the option to update the Zoom computer application. If the update option is not available, individuals will need to contact their IT department for further support.
