Engage - Unizin Read App Set to Retire April 7

The Unizin Read mobile app will be retired on April 7, 2023.
Unizin Read, a mobile app (available on both iOS and Android) used to access Engage digital materials, will be retired on April 7, 2023. The app allowed for downloading Engage materials to a tablet or phone for offline reading. However, users were not able to create highlights and questions or see annotations created in Engage via a browser or shared annotations within the mobile app. Bookmarks and notes created in Unizin Read were not available when accessing Engage from a browser.
Several factors went into the decision to retire the app, most notably its low utilization rates, its disproportionately high cost to support (both financial and time), and its inability to capture event data.
The Redshelf mobile app is an existing alternative to the Unizin Read app. The Redshelf mobile app boasts all the features of the Engage eReader (which is powered by RedShelf). More information about this app can be found here. Questions or concerns can be directed to the DoIT Help Desk.
