Learn@UW and "500 errors"

Increased end-of-semester load on the Learn@UW system may result in "500 errors", especially in the gradebook. If you encounter this error, please try the following suggestions:

  1. Try again in an hour.
  2. Try again during the non-peak times (before 9am and after 6pm).
  3. Use a non-IE browser, such as Mozilla 1.7 or Netscape 7.2. Our tests show that IE could take much longer doing gradebook calculations versus a non-IE browser.

There has been an increase in the number of "500 errors" appearing in the Learn@UW system. This typically occurs with increased activity in the gradebook at the end of the semester. The Learn@UW servers are handling the load.
