DoIT Streaming Media Services is deploying a new server (mediastreamer4.doit.wisc.edu ) to host Quicktime content. The server will be down from approximately 9am-10am August 17th 2007 When it comes back on line users will be required to remap to the new address (mediastreamer4.doit.wisc.edu ) if you are using windows file sharing or re-connect to your folder on the new server if you are using WebDAV.

There will be a service outage for users wishing to uploading files to the DoIT Streaming Media Services’ Quicktime server (mediastreamer2.doit.wisc.edu) at 9am until 10am Friday August 17^th. This should not significantly affect playback of these files.

A new server (mediastreamer4.doit.wisc.edu )is being deployed to host Quicktime content. After 10am Friday, August 17th 2007 users will be required to reconnect to the new address (mediastreamer4.doit.wisc.edu )

These are the links to knowledge base documents describing how to reconnect
How to connect via windows file sharing (UW-Madison campus or VPN only)
How to connect via WebDAV from Windows OS
How to connect via WebDAV from Mac OS

All files have already been copied to the new sever. This change will not affect other streaming media content directories (e.g. Windows Media)

This change should not affect existing links to content available from web page(s). Paths to content files will retain the same URL structure (e.g. rtsp://qtstreamer.doit.wisc.edu/your-directory/your-file.mov).
