Learn@UW/D2L Service Issue - 10/1/2008 - RESOLVED

From about 4am-8am today, 10/1/2008, there was a problem due to a campus' LDAP server being down.

The impact of the unavailable campus LDAP server on the Learn@UW service and logins was not experienced until starting about 6am, when more people were logging into the Learn@UW service. The unresolved logins from the campus whose LDAP server was down began to bog down the IAA authhub, in turn impacting logins from other campuses. The problem was resolved at about 8am when the campus LDAP server was again available. We have been working with D2L to resolve the issue where, if a campus LDAP server is down, it's unavailability does not affect other campus' access to the Learn@UW service.
