To increase mainframe security, we are implementing stronger password controls. These improvements will make it harder for someone to guess your password, and make it less likely that the sensitive data we are responsible for protecting will be compromised.
The new rules follow standard practices implemented at many universities for safeguarding access to information. The details can be found at: http://kb.wisc.edu/helpdesk/page.php?id=2246
These new rules will be in effect for any password change beginning Wednesday, July 15, 2009.
