An emergency shutdown of development servers will happen on Tuesday, December 29, at 11:00 AM and should be back up Tuesday evening. This will only affect development servers and not production systems.

Update

The cooling test was successful and affected servers were brought back online Tuesday afternoon.

Original News Item

On Monday, DoIT conducted a shutdown of the main data center cooling systems to test the viability of cooling the data center with outside air for the upcoming data center electrical and HVAC upgrade.

Regrettably the test was unsuccessful. We plan to conduct a second test on Tuesday which will now also include shutting down all development and test systems on the platform starting at 11:00 am. I have authorized this additional test on short notice to take advantage of the holiday break and apologize for the inconvenience it will cause.

However, we anticipate all development servers will be back up and running by Tuesday evening. Again, this impacts only development or test boxes...no production systems will be affected.

If you have any concerns, please contact John Krogman, Steve Krogull or Nate Royko Maurer immediately. Again, we regret this inconvenience, but thank you in advance for your cooperation and understanding.
