Dev and test systems in main data center will be down Jan 8 through Jan 11 for HVAC upgrade

Development and test systems in the main data center will be taken down this weekend so that the platform can be cooled by outside air during an upgrade of the piping for the cooling system. This will not affect any production systems.

Original notification

The first step in undertaking DoIT's main data center electrical and HVAC (Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning) upgrade will begin this Friday, January 8. This weekend we will be cooling the main data center with outside air while Facilities Planning & Management upgrades piping for the cooling system. This will necessitate the shut down of all development and test systems on the platform starting at 4:00 pm Friday, January 8, and coming back up no later than 8:00 am Monday, January 11.

No production systems will be affected by this shutdown.
