Forwarding Centrix phones to non-Centrix phones using "*116" (Call Forward Variable)

Beginning at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, March 4, 2002, there will be a new way for forwarding Centrix phones to local phone numbers outside the Centrex system.

In general, the Call Forward Variable feature (*116) allows you to forward a Centrix phone to a telephone number within or outside of the Centrex system.

To forward all calls to a nonCentrix local phone number:

  • On the Centrix phone, get a dial tone.
  • Enter *116 followed by *9 and then the local phone number.
  • Hang up when the dial tone is heard.

The only difference in the new method is the star (*) in front of the 9. The call-forwarding can be deactivated by dialing *118.

The code used to forward Centrix phones to other Centrex phones or long distance numbers is unchanged.
