DoIT staff,

Network Services has scheduled a change for between 0600 and 0700 tomorrow morning, tues., April 30, which will cause a short outage for the Local Area Network used by DoIT staff.

The actual outage is expected to last perhaps 15 minutes, during which time affected machines will not be able to contact any machines outside the DoIT LAN (including DoIT platform-based services). All DoIT staff machines with IP addresses beginning with 128.104.16., 128.104.17., 128.104.18., or 128.104.19. will be affected.

Although the change involves the installation of a firewall, no new policies are being introduced at the time of installation, so its presence should be transparent. The contacts for this work are myself and Scott Buckingham .

If you experience DoIT LAN problems after 0700 on April 30, please route them to the help desk as usual.
