DoIT has implemented a new redundant, recursive Domain Name System (DNS) service for the UW Madison Campus. DNS servers translate alphabetic domains names such as www.doit.wisc.edu to the underlying numerical IP addresses

If customers obtain their IP and DNS server addresses automatically (through a DHCP server) they do not need to do anything. DHCP system administrators do, however need to make the change.
