Response times for all campuses normal.

The Learn@UW service for both UWS and UWM was affected by a larger campus network outage that began at about 10:30am, March 03. Users would have experienced extreme slowness or a non-responsive LE. In addition, files submitted to the Document Viewer might not have displayed or could take minutes to display. The network issue was resolved at about 2:00pm and performance of the Learn@UW service has returned to normal.

The Utility continues to look into any lingering issues that might affect our users. As a precaution, and at D2L’s recommendation, we will restart the Distributed Caching Service tomorrow morning, March 04, at about 6am. D2L tells us that users active during the restart will likely experience slower than normal performance for up to about five minutes.

We understand that this is a critical time of the semester for our instructors and students. We deeply regret the problems that this outage undoubtedly caused. We will conduct an investigation of this incident and report back the findings.
