John Miner recently changed the password reset utility so that if a person needs to reactivate their account, the password on that account cannot be reset; trying to do so will result in the aforementioned error message.

John Miner recently changed the password reset utility so that if a person needs to reactivate their account, the password on that account cannot be reset; trying to do so will result in the error message "PWCHANGE_CANNOT_CHANGE (808)". Furthermore, within the LDAP entry, you should see a line that says, ""Person has left and come back. Account should be reactivated."

The reset utility was changed because if someone's account needs to be reactivated, and the password is reset on that account, the account will work only temporarily. It is very important that when customers inquire about netid account issues that we dig through their ldap entry with a fine tooth comb to accurately diagnose what is going on.
