RESOLVED (10:34 pm) The service is operating within expected parameters as of 10:34 p.m. One specific issue first observed (errors displayed when attempting to view statistics for Discussion forums) has not been resolved and may be unrelated to the events that transpired. Further investigation by the vendor is in progress for this issue.

UPDATE (5:45 pm) The service has been restored to normal function for UW-Milwaukee. Progress is being made and services for the other UW System campuses is targeted to be restored on Tuesday morning (4/26). Users will continue to experience issues viewing the statistics for Discussion forums.

UPDATE (3:45 pm) Progress has been made with resolving the service issue, although additional work remains. Some regular maintenance tasks have been successfully restored to normally scheduled operations and are functioning as expected. This announcement will be updated as developments occur.

UPDATE (1:45 pm): We continue to coordinate efforts to investigate and resolve issues related to the infrastructure. The issue preventing routine maintenance continues to limit specific functions (e.g. ability to view statistics for the Discussions tool) and the elevated risk of impact to other application functionality remains. Infrastructure technologists are directly engaged with the necessary vendor support resources to move the investigation and resolution forward as quickly as possible.

UPDATE (11:45 am): Investigation into the root cause continues and specific issues related to it remain in effect (e.g. ability to view statistics for the Discussions tool).

CRITICAL UPDATE (10:12 am): Users were unable to access the Learn@UW Service starting at approximately 10: 07 a.m., due to an unexpected failover of infrastructure components. The service is expected to be fully available at ~10:45 a.m.

UPDATE (9:30 am): The issue has been mitigated at ~9:27 a.m. on Monday, April 25, 2016. Some of the risk has been mitigated as a result. We will continue to monitor the situation and investigate the underlying issue.

The Learn@UW service is currently in a degraded state due to an issue with the infrastructure. There is risk that service performance or certain functions may begin to be affected, resulting in slowness or errors. The situation is being closely monitored and technologists are working to resolve the issue. This announcement will be updated as developments occur.

Your patience was appreciated as we worked to resolve the situation.
