Box will start blocking access from Internet Explorer 9 and 10 on May 1, 2017. Box has discontinued support for Internet Explorer 9 and 10 as of September 26, 2016. Please continue reading for information on why support is ending, as well as alternatives for accessing Box.

Why is Support Ending for Internet Explorer 9 and 10?

Microsoft's end of support for these browsers means that they are no longer receiving security updates and are more vulnerable to attacks. Additionally, discontinuing Box support for these browsers will allow for a better and more consistent experience when using Box.

What Does This Mean for Me?

Beginning on September 26th, users of IE9 and IE10 may see a banner advising them to upgrade or use a different browser, on May 1, 2017 IE9 and IE10 users will be blocked from accessing Box entirely.

Following this date, Windows 7 and 8 users should access Box via Internet Explorer 11, and Windows 10 users should use Microsoft Edge. Alternatively, Windows users may also access Box with a current version of Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome.
