Security changes coming to UW-Madison Box accounts on June 21, 2017

Effective June 21, 2017, UW-Madison Box accounts will receive the following two security changes:
1. Unencrypted FTP access to UW-Madison Box accounts will be disabled.
Encrypted FTP access will still be available (FTPS, FTPES).

Individuals who use an FTP client to access their UW-Madison Box account were notified of this change on Tuesday, June 6th. View notification.
2. Increased password strength for UW-Madison Box external passwords.
Individuals who created an external password for their UW-Madison Box account will be required to update their password to meet NetID password criteria and requirements.
