ISIS - Password Reset, Expiration, Temporary Password, or Forgotten Password

This document explains what needs to be done if an ISIS user wants or needs to change their password.

This applies only to users who use a 3-character user ID.  It does not apply to users who log into ISIS using their NetID.

Password Reset

  1. From anywhere in ISIS, after you are logged in click on Change My Password in the Menu.
  2. Enter your Current Password.
    Enter your New Password using ISIS - Password Rules.
    Re-enter the New Password.
    Click the Change Password button.
  3. At the "Password Saved" screen click OK.
  4. Your password has now been updated and you are brought back to the Change Password screen. You can now navigate away OR change your password again.

Password Will Expire

When you log into ISIS if you receive a message that "Your password will expire in X days." This indicates that your password is going to expire within 14 days. Follow this procedure to change your password now in order to avoid complications.

  1. After you log into ISIS and get the message that reads "Your password will expire in X days. Would you like to change your password now ?" Click Yes
  2. Enter your Current Password.
    Enter your New Password using ISIS - Password Rules.
    Re-enter the New Password.
    Click the Change Password button.
  3. At the Password Saved screen click OK.
  4. Your password has now been updated and you are brought back to the Change Password screen. You can now navigate away OR change your password again.

Password Has Expired and Change Temporary Password

When you log into ISIS if you receive a message that "Your password has expired." This indicates that you must change your password in order to access ISIS. Follow this procedure to change your password.

  1. After you log into ISIS and get the message that reads "Your password has expired." Click Click here to change your password.

    If a new page does not load upon clicking Click here to change your password and you are running Internet Explorer, click here: Third Party Browser Extension Turnoff in Internet Explorer

  2. Enter your Current Password.
    Enter your New Password using ISIS - Password Rules.
    Re-enter the New Password.
    Click the Change Password button.
  3. At the Password Saved screen click OK.
  4. At this time you MUST LOG OUT of ISIS by clicking Sign Out in the upper right corner.
  5. Enter your User ID.
    Enter the Password you just set.
    Click Sign In.

Note: Every time you request a password reset you will have to follow this procedure of changing your password, logging out and then logging in. You will be forced to change the password before you do anything else.

Third Party Browser Extension Turnoff in Internet Explorer

  1. Select the Tools menu.
  2. Select Internet Options.

  3. Select the Advanced tab.
  4. Uncheck "Enable third party browser extensions."

  5. Close all instances of Internet Explorer and relaunch the program.
