Engage - Known Issue - Engage displays error message when going to a saved bookmark for eText

A saved bookmark for an Engage eText displays a username and password prompt which the user is not able to login to.

When a user saves a bookmark for an eText in the Engage tool and then goes back to the bookmark, it may display a username and login page like this:

The user cannot log in with their NetID to view the eText. Instead, the user must log in to the Canvas course to access the Engage eText material.

This will affect users who bookmark an Engage eText.

Users must access Engage eTexts via the Canvas course:

  1. Login with your netid to Canvas: canvas.wisc.edu
  2. Click on the link or the course card for the course using an Engage eText.
  3. Click the Engage eText link in the course navigation:

  4. This should load a new tab with Engage and your eText. If a new tab does not open you may need to click on the purple Launch Unizin Engage button that appears in Canvas.
