MFA-Duo - Logging into WiscVPN
For step-by-step WiscVPN connection instructions, please see the pre-existing documentation provided by Network Services:
- WiscVPN GlobalProtect (Windows) - Connecting and Disconnecting
- WiscVPN GlobalProtect (macOS) - Connecting and Disconnecting
Receiving pushes to your Duo device
When sending a push to your Duo device by entering "1" and clicking "Verify" at the following screen, please note that the push will only be sent to the first mobile device listed in the Duo portal. If you would like to change the device the push is sent to, you will need to remove/re-add your devices to re-order it. Please see MFA-Duo - Removing Devices and MFA-Duo - Adding Secondary/Backup Devices for guidance on deleting your primary device and adding a new one in a different order.
Entering a passcode from your Duo Device
Alternatively to sending your Duo device a push, you can enter a passcode generated in your Duo app.
- Open the Duo Mobile app on your device and click Show under your UW Madison NetID Login account.
- A 6-digit passcode will be presented. Enter this passcode into the "Verification code" WiscVPN dialogue box and click "Verify" to log in.
Using a token
If you would like to sign into the WiscVPN client using a passcode generated from a token, follow the steps here to register one: MFA-Duo - How to Register a Token/Fob. Once your token is registered, follow these steps to use it:
- Make sure that the token's button is oriented to the left (as pictured). Press the button on the front of your MFA token.
-
The token will display a 6-digit code. Enter this passcode into the "Verification code" WiscVPN dialogue box and click "Verify" to log in.
Does WiscVPN require me to use Duo Verified Push?
