Late Disclosure of Academic or Nonacademic Misconduct
You will be required to provide information on academic and nonacademic misconduct to the Board of Bar Examiners (BBE) in whichever jurisdiction you apply. This includes disclosing information regarding misconduct that occurred before matriculation (i.e., before starting law school), and the BBE will compare your responses to your law school application. Thus, it is imperative that you correct any omissions or misrepresentations in your law school application -- whether inadvertent or otherwise -- as early in your law school career as possible. As this requires amending your law school application, please contact Associate Dean of Admissions with any such late disclosures.
Students do not have an ongoing obligation to report misconduct that occurs after law school matriculation to the Law School. However, students are encouraged to contact the Assistant Dean for Student Affairs with any such disclosures to discuss their options, the impact on bar admission, and resources.
