Temporary Disabilities, Pregnancy, and Other Life Events

Information for students needing support for a temporary disability, pregnancy, and other life events that may have an academic impact.

Students who develop temporary disabilities, are pregnant, are a victim of a crime, have mental health concerns, experience a significant death, are ill, get injured, or are hospitalized should contact the Assistant Dean for Student Affairs for information and assistance. In some situations the Assistant Dean for Student Affairs may be able to reschedule an examination, provide a necessary accommodation during an exam, and/or consult with the student's professors to provide in-class accommodations.

The Law School has a Lactation Room for nursing and pumping. If you need access, contact the Assistant Dean for Student Affairs. View all lactation room locations on campus.

Students seeking temporary accessible parking permits due to a temporary disability should review the accessible transportation options. The Law School does not have the authority to issue parking permits; all such arrangements must be made through UW Transportation Services. Limited accessible parking near the Law School during school hours often restricts the usefulness of such permits, so the use of other accessible transportation options is recommended.
