Use of Generative AI

Information about the use of generative AI in Law courses.

Instructors may establish policies regarding the use of generative AI in their classes. By default, the use of generative AI in academic work (including but not limited to papers and exams) is prohibited, unless an instructor's policy states otherwise.

If the use of generative AI is allowed in a course, instructors may provide guidelines on what constitutes acceptable generative AI use and may require students to keep a record of their use of generative AI.

Check your syllabi and Canvas to ensure you understand your instructor's policy on the use of generative AI in each of your courses. See Law School Rule 3.20 for more information.
