LLM Course Selection and Approval Process
Pre-Enrollment Requirements
Students must complete the Pre-Enrollment Checklist and resolve any account holds before enrolling in classes. A registration hold will remain until all checklist items are resolved. Outstanding tasks can be found in the Tasks tile of your MyUW Student Center. Students cannot enroll in courses until they complete their pre-enrollment tasks!
Publication of the Law School Course Schedules (Fall and Spring)
Course schedules for the upcoming academic year (both fall and spring terms) will be available on the Law School’s Courses & Schedules page in early March. Please note that the course information posted on the Law School’s website may not appear in Course Search & Enroll until closer to registration.
Any new courses added after registration begins will be announced by the Associate Dean of Academic Affairs via email.
Getting Approval for Your Courses
First Semester
For the first semester of your program, the Graduate Programs office will hold a meeting during orientation to provide information on selecting courses for your first semester. Please wait for an email from the Graduate Programs office indicating which courses you may enroll in. Once you receive this email, you can officially enroll in your approved classes via MyUW.
Second Semester
The Graduate Programs Office will contact continuing LLM students mid-semester to discuss your options for the second semester. Afterward, the same process applies: the office will email you the necessary call numbers so you can complete your enrollment.
Course Search & Enroll
While we recommend that you use the Law School course schedule to initially build a class schedule, you must use the UW Course Search and Enroll app to register for courses.
