Read this introduction first for information about the Law School Student Handbook!
Dear Students,
This Law School Student Handbook is a collection of policies and information about the University of Wisconsin Law School, and it is intended to provide you with answers to common student questions. All Law School students and other individuals taking Law courses are expected to be familiar with the information in the Law School Student Handbook.
The Law School Student Handbook is the best place to start if you have questions; the Law School's website is a close second. But they are only a start -- please do feel free to reach out to the appropriate individual listed on the Administrative Contacts page if you have questions for a particular department.
The Law School Student Handbook includes interpretations of the Law School Rules, which are faculty-developed policies. If you have questions about a particular Law School Rule, please contact the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and/or the Assistant Dean for Student Affairs.
The Law School Student Handbook is subject to change at any time. We do our best to notify students about major changes in a timely manner, but please feel free to check with the Assistant Dean for Student Affairs if you are unsure about a policy. Due to the changing nature of policies, students should read the Law School Student Handbook at the beginning of each academic year.
If you have questions about anything in the Law School Student Handbook, you notice an error or discrepancy, and/or you have suggestions about information that should be added to the Law School Student Handbook to make it more comprehensive, please contact the Assistant Dean for Student Affairs. We want this resource to be as helpful as possible!
Sincerely,
The Office of Student Affairs
