Student Center - Ordering Your Official Transcript

An overview and step-by-step guide to ordering your official transcript through the Student Center.

Overview

Your transcript is the official record of your UW–Madison academic history, including courses taken, grades received, and degrees that have been awarded.
Transcript are available for delivery to you or any 3rd party as a PDF or paper hard-copy. Paper copies are also available for pickup from the Office of the Registrar.

Transcripts are free of charge.

Please note the steps below are only applicable if you were enrolled in a term from Fall 2010 to present.

Step-by-Step

  1. Login to MyUW.
  2. Click on the Student Center tile, then the Academic Records tile.

  3. From the menu on the left, click on “Request My Official Transcript”.

  4. A new window will open. You will be redirected to our Parchment storefront. This page will auto-populate your wisc email address - it is recommended that you change the email to a different address 


  5. Select Continue
  6. Complete the asterisked fields

  7. Create a password, then select Create Account & Continue

  8. An email confirming your account will be sent to the email address you provided. 
  9. To place your order select the green "order" button

Deliver to Recipient (Self/Other)

  1. Search for your institution/application service in the search bar or select the I'm sending to myself or another individual hyperlink.



  2. Select delivery destination and transcript type

  3. Enter or review the recipients information and click continue.
  4. Add your signature by signing with your mouse and typing your full name
  5. Review your order and edit any fields, if needed. When you are satisfied with your order, click continue.
  6. Verify the information on the page is correct, and select complete order.
  7. All set! You may save the order number for your reference, but you will receive email confirmation with the order details.

In person pickup

  1. Select the Local Pickup (In-Person Pickup) option. 



  2. A new section will appear on the page 
  3. Specify who is the person who will pick up the order. Select "Office of the Registrar" from the drop down menu.
  4. Click the confirmation box.
  5. Review your order and edit any fields, if needed. When you are satisfied with your order, click "Continue".
  6. Verify the information on the page is correct, and select complete order.
  7. All set! You may save the order number for your reference, but you will receive email confirmation with the order details.
    You will receive an email once the transcript is ready for pickup. Stop by the Office of the Registrar during business hours with a photo ID to pick up your transcript.
