Room 2321

Assistive Listening Devices

Four assistive listening devices are available in the cabinet below the presenter station. These devices will amplify any audio source the A/V system receives (microphones, computers, videoconferencing, etc.) into the earpiece. A user can also plug headphones or other audio devices into the headphone jack.

The assistive devices require two AA batteries to function or they can be plugged into an outlet. There is a switch that must match the type of batteries being use (Alkaline vs NiMH).

Projector and Screen

A projector is available. The projector and screen are controlled by the Cisco Video Conference System touch panel. There is also a manual switch to raise or lower the projector screen to the right of the screen.

Please make sure the projector is off when you leave the room. To turn the projector off click the Settings icon at the top right and select Standby.

Video Input Options

Video inputs are selected on the Share Screen area of the Cisco Video Conference System touch panel. You may have to click View to start sharing your screen over the projector. For wireless share instructions, see Hybrid Conferencing - How to Share Content Wirelessly to Webex Devices.

  • HDMI - Wired - The HDMI cable at the lecture station
  • AirPlay - Wireless - Apple AirPlay is available for Apple devices
  • Miracast - Wireless - Miracast is available for Windows devices
  • Webex Share - Wireless - Available via the Webex application or the listed website

Cisco Conferencing Telephone

The Cisco Video Conference System is able to act as a telephone. The call will come through the room’s speakers and will accept any of the microphone inputs. The phone number for the room is displayed on the top left corner of the touch screen.

To place a call, press the Call button on the touch screen. You can then press the number button or the number pad button (see example below) to be able to enter a phone number. Use the standard campus Cisco VoIP - Dialing patterns like you would on a desk phone to place your call. Use the information from the Microphones/Speakers section to control speaker volume, muting, etc.

Cisco Video Conferencing (Touch Panel)

The videoconferencing system supports Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, Cisco Webex and Zoom meetings and offers three camera angles (front, rear, side).  There are multiple ways to join a meeting from the room.

If your meeting was scheduled by inviting the room to the meeting, a button should appear shortly before the meeting begins allowing you to directly join. This is the easiest method to join a videoconference meeting.

You can also manually join a meeting. To do so, select the appropriate meeting type. Once prompted, you can enter the required meeting information (room number, password, etc.) or you can visit the link below and invite the room to your meeting.

Lighting Controls

The lighting can be turned on/off using switches by the doors. More precise control is available using the Cisco Video Conference System touch panel. Lighting controls are in the Room Controls section of the system.

  • All On - Full Lighting - Activates all programmable lights in the room - 10 second delay to allow eyes to adjust
  • All Off - Off - 10 second delay to allow eyes to adjust
  • Proj Mode - Pendant lights are at 50%, wall lights are at 100% - 3 second delay to allow eyes to adjust
  • Movie - Pendant lights are off, wall lights are at ~40%
  • Video Bright - All lighting is at 70% - 3 second delay to allow eyes to adjust
  • Video Dim - Pendant lights near doors are at 50%, all other lights are at 20%

Please make sure all lights are off when you leave the room.

Microphones & Speakers

The master volume is controlled by the volume settings on the Video Conference System.

More detailed settings are available in the ‘Room Control’ option on the Video Conference System display. You are able to mute or adjust the wireless mic (lapel) microphone level, and mute the ceiling microphones.

Microphone Options:

  • Wireless Mic - This is the lapel microphone. This microphone uses a 9V battery.
  • Ceiling Mic - Ceiling installed microphones

Window Blinds

The window blinds are controlled using the white 3-button switch between the main entrance and the presenter station.

The top button moves the blinds up, the middle button stops any movement, and the bottom button moves the blinds down.
