On May 20, 2019, two new Navigation Links will be coming to UW-Madison's Canvas courses: Course Syllabus (AEFIS) and Course Summary. These links will replace the current Syllabus link, which will be permanently removed. These are UW-Madison custom links, so you will not find information about them on the Canvas Community

  • The Course Syllabus (AEFIS) will display the official course syllabus, generated by the Official Syllabus tool.
  • The Course Summary will display the information that is currently in the Canvas Syllabus, such as course assignments and due dates. If instructors have added other information to Canvas's default Syllabus, such as an introduction to the course, this information will also be moved to the new Course Summary.

This change will affect all UW-Madison Canvas courses, including courses that were taught in previous semesters.

Instructors and students will see the new pages linked in Canvas's course navigation menu. As necessary, instructors can choose to remove one or both pages from their courses. See How do I use the Course Navigation Menu as an Instructor?
