UWNet - Create a Guest Account

This document outlines how to access wireless UWNet Wi-Fi as a non-UW guest on campus.

Connect to eduroam

Students, employees, and researchers at many universities and research centers already have access to the eduroam wireless network. If you have access to eduroam, you can connect to eduroam anywhere on the UW-Madison campus.

Refer to your organization's IT support desk for instructions to set up and connect to eduroam.

Use the InCommon Organization Search tool to check if your organization provides access to eduroam.

Troubleshooting

'The username is already in use' error

If the registration page says 'The username is already in use', try to use a different email to register.

If you've already registered with an email address but don't have the password to login, you will not be able to register with that email again until the system removes it. This can take a few weeks.

Correct login credentials

Make sure you are using the provided Account Username and Guest Password from your registration to log in to UWNet.

Use these credentials for all of your devices. Do not register again for each new device.
