Timetable Planning - Set course location (room) and time

Access the To Do panel
On the Timetable Planning page, select the academic term you want to view and then select “Refresh Data.”
Below “Show in Grid,” select the “Planning” radio button if you want to view IPT course planning data only. Select the “Both” radio button if you want to view both SIS data and IPT course planning data in the timetable together.
Scroll down to the “To Do” section at the bottom of the page. This is where courses you’ve added in IPT will appear when they haven’t been assigned meeting day(s) and time(s).
Assign room and meeting times
In the To Do panel, find the course number that you want to edit.
Select the class meeting day(s) from the first dropdown.
In the field with a clock icon, enter the class start time. The end time will be automatically calculated by IPT if there is a Class Length (number of minutes) specified on the Course page.
If there is no Class Length specified on the Course page, you must select "DFLT" (Default) in the first dropdown to populate additional fields where you can select the class meeting day(s) and the class end time.
In the final dropdown, select the requested room assignment.
- If the course is online only, there is an option in the Social Work instance of IPT to select “ONLINE” as the room location.
- If the room you need to assign is not listed in the dropdown, refer to Admin Tools - Add or edit rooms in system list or contact your IPT administrator.
Once you’ve entered the appropriate data, select the “Move To Grid” button to make the course appear in the timetable grid (calendar view) according to the day(s) and time(s) you’ve selected.
You may select the “No Dates or Times” checkbox if you do not want the course to appear in the timetable grid. This option is primarily used for asynchronous online courses and independent studies. Upon selecting this option, the course will appear in the “No Date/Time” column to the right of the timetable grid.
Important: Whenever you make changes to course planning data using the To Do panel, be sure to select the "Save All" button at the top of the page to save your changes.
Edit room and meeting times
If you need to change a course’s assigned room and meeting times, find it in the timetable grid and select the Edit (pencil) icon to the right of the course number.
Selecting the pencil icon will remove the course from the timetable grid and put it back in the To Do panel at the bottom of the Timetable Planning page.
If you need to make more extensive edits to a course’s planning data, you must open the Course page and make changes there. Refer to Course page - Overview for more information and general help.
What to do if a course is missing the Edit (pencil) icon
If a course listed in the timetable grid is missing the Edit (pencil) icon, this means the course does not have planning data entered for it in IPT — it is listed in SIS only.
To make edits to a course that does not have a pencil icon, you must first open and save the course in IPT. Select the course number link to open the Course page. Then, enter your planning data and select “Save” at the bottom of the page.
