L&S Guidelines for Instructional Appointments
The following document contains the policy links related to instructional appointments in L&S as it relates to SIS (Student Information System).
Per campus policy, instructors of for-credit courses must have active instructional appointments (as defined by the Registrar) during the term of instruction in the campus HR system (HRS). Instructors should also meet campus' minimum qualifications for instructional staff. This policy applies to instructors for Directed/Independent courses, as well as Group Instruction courses. Employees hired into instructional appointments will automatically be made available to be assigned to courses in SIS, when their appointment is added to HRS.
Occasionally a department may need to assign a staff member with non-instructional appointment as an instructor in SIS.
