Canvas - Permission Removed from "Staff" Role

Learn@UW-Madison recently performed maintenance on the Canvas roles, impacting permissions of the "Staff" role.
The role was altered to realign its expected behavior with the specifications laid out in the KB document, Canvas - Course Roles and Permissions.
Users with the "Staff" role will no longer be able to add other participants in the "Student" role to Canvas courses. If this function is necessary, a different role with appropriate permissions should be used instead of "Staff".
