Learn@UW/D2L - Problems with Load Balancer (Updated 10/3)

Unplanned reboot of the load balancer (Layer 4 switch) at 3:32 pm on Tuesday October 2.
Additional Information (Wednesday, October 3rd):
Users may have received warnings about an expired security certificate through 10 a.m. on Wednesday, October 3rd. We've taken steps to correct this behavior.
At approx 3:30 this afternoon, the production layer 4 switch re-booted itself. Any service sitting behind this switch was affected, including Learn@UW and IAA (the authentication service for Learn@UW).
Clean-up from the unplanned reboot resulted in instability and sporadic outages for Learn@UW until about 4:15 pm.
As of 4:30, the layer 4 switch is now stable.
