Learn@UW users might experience erratic performance lasting 1-2 minutes between 3:00-3:30pm Friday July 15 as technologists apply a critical security patch to the Learn@UW servers. A simple refresh of the browser page will resolve any errors.

Full details from Learn@UW technologists:

"Desire2Learn notified us about a security vulnerability that impacts the version that we are running in the Learn@UW Production, QA, and Beta environments. Due to the urgency and potential risk associated with this vulnerability, we will proceed with patching all environments as soon as possible. The patching of the Production environment will occur at approximately 3:00 p.m. today (Friday, July 15).

The potential impact on users is described by D2L as:

"There may be some erratic behavior during the deployment of the fix, where user may see an error but when they refresh the error will go away. This should not last more than 1-2 minutes"

We understand that this may cause some disruption to your users and may receive inquiries. Due to the short time frame for deployment, relatively low impact on users and the need to provide flexibility for D2L, we will not post outage pages and will patch while the systems are available."
Thank you for your patience as we deal with this critical matter.
