LinkedIn Learning Getting Started [UW-Madison]

This document is meant to guide new users of Linkedin Learning

   

LinkedIn Learning is an online educational platform that helps you discover and develop business, technology-related, and creative skills through expert-led course videos. With more than 5,000 courses and personalized recommendations, you can discover, complete, and track courses related to your field and interests.

Instructor Considerations

  • LinkedIn Learning content can be linked to and shared with students, but it is not integrated to allow for embedding within Canvas.

Getting Started with LinkedIn Learning

  • Log into LinkedIn Learning using your UW-Madison NetID at https://lnkd.in/eFrnwki.
  • Browse for roles, learning paths and topics in business, creative and technology sections.
  • LinkedIn Learning is centrally supported by the Learn@UW-Madison team. For technical support questions, contact the DoIT Help Desk.
  • You can add LinkedIn Learning to your MyUW Homepage. To do so, please see MyUW - Searching and Customizing MyUW Homepage, and search for LinkedIn Learning.

Tool Functionality

Basic Functionality

  • Discover, complete, and track courses related to your field and interests.

  • Get recommendations for courses based on your position and other profile details, such as your learning history and skills you’re interested in..

  • Many courses come equipped with exercise files, assessments and transcripts for the video.

Advanced Functionality

  • Utilize learning paths for compiled playlists of related video courses on a specific topic or career track.

  • Earn professional certificates from Microsoft and an expanding list of other providers.

Pricing

  • UW-Madison has an institutional license for LinkedIn Learning. There is no direct cost (i.e. LinkedIn Learning is free) to UW-Madison students, staff, and faculty.
