In an EMERGENCY CALL 911

AN EMERGENCY IS AN IMMEDIATE THREAT TO HEALTH, LIFE AND/OR PROPERTY THAT REQUIRES AN IMMEDIATE RESPONSE.

When reporting an emergency:

• Stay on the line with the dispatcher;
• Provide the address, location and a description of the emergency;
• Provide the phone number at your location;
• Provide a thorough description of the incident to assure appropriate resources are dispatched.

Dial 911 from a campus building phone. Your call will be connected to UW–Madison Police dispatch. If you dial 911 from a non-campus phone, your call will first be routed to a dispatch center other than UW–Madison Police. State that you are calling from UW–Madison campus.
